Sketch Saturday Challenge and CES Challenge

Evening everybody, hope you all had some lovely goodies yesterday and were totally spoiled.  I know I was, dinner cooked for me and lovely pressies, some of which were digi images from the Paper Shelter and Kenny K's.  I'm really looking forward to using them :).

Anyway on to my latest creation which I am entering into Sketch Saturday Challenge  and also CES Challenge - Children - either on the card or for them.

Enjoy what's left of the evening.

Wedding Acceptances

Happy weekend to you all.  I hope you manage to get many happy hours in your crafty little places this weekend (after breakfast in bed of course and some TLC),  some of you maybe with your new goodies you've had for Mother's Day.  I know I'm hoping to get some little surprises (nice crafting ones I hasten to add) and then I can disappear into my little world too.

Anyway onto my two creations for today, and who knows there may be another one later on :).  These are two wedding acceptance cards in reply to a couple of invites we had earlier in the year.  I have crafted each one in the theme of each wedding.  The first one is white and cadbury blue and is just 5" in diameter.  The second has a theme of butterflies and the colour pink and is 4" square.  Hope you likey.

Happy crafting.

2nd Post of the Evening

Hello again.  Just wanted to show you a birthday card I've done after seeing the design on Donna's blog.  Thanks Donna, I hope I've done it justice and yes your instructions were clear enough to follow so thanks again.

I've used a Kenny K image and coloured it with Promarkers and glittered the wings.

Well that's it for tonight folks.

A Decoupage Card

Good evening all.  The card I have to show you today has an image that is decoupaged.  The papers are from First Edition Papers - Desert Blooms that I picked up from the craft show at the NEC last weekend (along with lots of other gorgeous goodies that I just couldn't resist :-) ) I just love the colour of these papers!

I've had the decoupage image for some time and when I saw the challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers Spotlight Challenge (Spotlight on Decoupage) I took the opportunity to use it.  I have used my Martha Stewart 'Doily' border punch, Spellbinders nestabilities, Nellies multi-frames (inside) and the ribbon and flowers are from my stash.  The card also follows the sketch over at LORA Crafts Sketches

I am entering this card into Crafty Cardmakers Spotlight Challenge - Spotlight on Decoupage.

Have a good evening.

Two Lovely Surprises

Hi all,  I have made a couple of cards that I would like you to see but unfortunately the batteries in my camera have died.  I did try to borrow the ones from the telly remote, but that didn't go down very well with Other Half, so I will have to wait until I can buy some tomorrow.  Anyway on to happier events - I discovered that I had been picked by Random Org on Gem of a Challenge Challenge 16 (thank you ladies) and have now received my goodies which I shall be displaying on my cards hopefully in the near future.  The second surprise was to receive a super award from Mel.  Thank you so much Mel, it's so kind of you.

I would like to give this award to:-
Thanks so much for following my blog :-)

Hope you have all had a good evening.

Lora Crafts Sunday Sketches

Well I said I would be back with the sketch at Lora Crafts Sunday Sketches.  It's a little late, but better late than never I say!  I have used one of Kenny K's digi images and the papers are from K&Co Designer Mat Pad, Hopscotch.  I think the papers look a little sweet for a boy, but that's probably because I thought the pad said male papers. The front of the pad it had a little boy on it so I assumed - d-u-u-h.  What an idiot.  That'll teach me to think about what I'm doing in future.  Anyway I've decided this guy likes bright colours!
Hope you all had a good weekend.

Forever Friends Double Easel Card

Afternoon all, I have two cards to show you today.  The first is a double easel card I have made with the new black and gold Forever Friends paper pack.  These new papers are fabulous - I particularly like the foiled ones, but all of them are really nice.  I haven't any of the Forever Friends stamps so I have cut the bears out of the papers to layer onto the card.  The ribbon and adhesive stones are from my stash and the sentiment is a Letraset Rub Down transfer.

The second card is a variation of a cross over card that I first saw last year on Lora Crafts blog.  Thanks for the inspiration Lyndsey!  I have made this an opening card, tied with ribbon.  The image is from Pink Petticoat, coloured with Promarkers and glitter added to the bride's dress.  I have also applied glitter to parts of the paper just to give it a little something.  Flowers, pearls and stones are from my stash.

Well I'm off to Lora Crafts blog now to have a look at the Sunday Sketch for this week and will possibly be back later on with another card following that sketch.
See you later on.

For a little Princess

Hi everyone, I have had so much to do over the last few days that I haven't cruised around blogland to see what everyone is up to as much as I would have liked.  However I have made two cards in between the busiest moments and tonight I am going to try to catch up with you all.  The first card is a birthday card for my granddaughter. The image I have used is Princess-Lou from Di's Digi Downloads, coloured with Promarkers.

I am entering this card into

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog - Anything Goes!!

I have to thank Barbara at Hunnybunnycards for the inspiration for my next card (I hope you don't mind Barbara but I loved your card sooooo much, I decided to do a take on it!).  It is a wedding card for my nephew and niece-to-be.  The image is another one from Di's Digi Downloads  called With-this-Ring and coloured with Promarkers.

Hope you like the cards.  I'm off now to try to catch up with you all.

Thanks for popping by.

Springtime ..........is nearly here!

Hi everyone.   Today has been very sunny here in the Midlands, chilly but a very cheerful day.  I hope you have all had a share of the same.  It has been the perfect day to create my card for the Dream Valley Challenge - New Beginnings and for the Fab and Funky Challenge - Spring into Action.  My take on these has been to design a card for the beginning of a new season - Spring.  I have followed the sketch on A Gem of a Challenge so will also be entering it into that Challenge.
That's all for tonight, must go for a scoot around blogland to see what you've all been doing.

Outside the Box

Hi everyone, on this latest card I have popped the top half of the image, Faery Emma, outside of the box and have positioned the papers oh so very slightly off centre to give the illusion of shadowing where the corner has been punched.

The papers are from my scrap box, the four leaf clover and tag were done on the computer.  I used Glossy Accents and Glamour Dust on the clover.  The image is from The Paper Shelter and is coloured with Promarkers.

I am entering this card in two challenges

CES Challenge - St Patrick's Day/Good Luck
The Paper Shelter - use your scraps of paper for the card and use a Paper Shelter image.

Thanks for popping by my blog - hope you all had a good weekend.

Oh wow an award ........................thanks so much :)

Good morning! It's the weekend again!  Where does time go?......and no I don't want to believe that it's because the older you get the quicker time goes lol.  Anyway I will post a card, although I'm not entirely happy with it, but mistakes will lead to a better card next time (hopefully).  I used an image that I really like from Wild Rose Studio, my home made flowers again (just because I can get the right colours), Marianne punch and Craftwork Cards sentiment.  Papers were some I had had for some time.
What don't I like?  Should have used Glamour Dust or spritzed the flowers with shimmer mist.  Still I'll know for next time.

And ......wow what a surprise, thank you soooo much Mel for this lovely award and for the mention. You're a gem.  Just gotta find out how to 'pick it up' lol.  Thanks too to Donna and Barbara for becoming my latest followers and your lovely comments.

Have a good weekend all - you've made my day!

Time for Grace (Sugar Nellie)

Good morning

I started to put together this easel card using the image Grace from Sugar Nellie and had a frustration attack after finding that I hadn't any flowers in my stash of the colour I wanted.  Time to turn to my trusted companion, the computer and a brilliant programme I have from Serif.  Eventually my frustration attack began to wain as after a bit of tweaking here and there with design, size and colour, I came up with these flowers.  After cutting them out, I scored the 'petals' just give a bit of depth, applied distress ink at the edges and fixed adhesive stones to complete them.  A stem of flowers were decoupaged at the top of the card.

Not so sure now about the sentiment on the top but oooh isn't it a good feeling to have something come together when you previously had doubts about it happening.  A bit like life really........?

Have a good day.

Another Mother's Day card

Good afternoon all,

The card on my post today is another Mother's Day card, but a very different one!  The image is a Heather Ellis digi image from Heather-Ellis.co.uk and is from the Pure Innocence range coloured with Promarkers. The card is embellished with rub-ons from K&Company; ribbon and blingy bits from my stash.  I found a boxolope template created by Dawnie's Den and decided to have a go at making it and sticking matching paper inside, just to make it a little more of a personal envelope.  The 'gussets' at the sides allow room for embellishments on the cards.  I don't think it turned out too bad.  I've added the photo below.

Well I'm off to do a bit of hopping around blogland now and maybe make another card?

Have a good weekend.

Flowers for Mum Stepper Card

Hi,
Just shaken the dust off a Craft Creations 3D decoupage sheet that I have had sitting at the back of my desk - just right for a Mother's Day card I thought.  Lost my mojo a bit over the weekend and need something to get me started again.  Anyway struggled a bit putting this card together, but methinks me mojo may be on its way back again

Thanks for looking.

A brief post today

Hi all,  just thought you would like to see a couple of cards I made yesterday.  The blue one is for a friend's birthday and the one with the duck is for a friend who is not very well, having just completed a course of chemo and radiotherapy, which he was actually being administered over Christmas and New Year.  His prognosis is good but just thought this may cheer him up a little.

Hope you like them.

Is winter coming to an end ..........?

Hi folks. What a beautiful couple of days we have had weather wise.  I hope you have all been lucky enough to have had similar weather and have had the time and opportunity to get out there and enjoy it.  As you can see from the photo's we are lucky enough to live near Cannock Chase, an area of outstanding beauty, where we can roam with our dog Mac and take advantage of the weather.

Anyway back to this afternoon.  I found the address of a craft shop that I had never been to before (mmm don't know how I managed to miss it as it is only a couple of miles away) and spent the afternoon doing what most of us crafters seem to do best, look, touch and spend more than we should on crafting goodies.  Eventually my daughter Becci dragged me out of the shop, otherwise I might just still have been there.  Bought some Cosmic Shimmer Pigments - never used them before, so I'll let you know how I get on.  But if some of you lovely people out there have any hints or suggestions on how to use them, please let me know.  I would love to hear from you.

Below is a card I have just completed for a friend's retirement in April this year.

I have used Fairy Doodlers Teddy Bo and Teddy Bea, digi image, coloured with Promarkers.  The papers are from Papermania's Exquisite Paper Collection.  The leaves and swirls are Marianne Creatables that I cut out of blue card then went over them with blue Sakura gelly pen which put a shimmer on them.  Unfortunately the camera hasn't picked up the blue very well or the shimmer effect.

Thanks to anyone who may have popped by and read my blog.
